1. Go to the Templates page and print out the luminary templates.
2. Turn the folds of the paper bag from the inside to the outside as
shown in the illustration below.
3. Trim the template so you can easily
center it on the paper bag.
4. Place the template just above the
bottom fold of the bag. You may
choose to tape it in place, if you do
use a repositionable tape.
5. Place the paper bag or bags on a padded surface and begin
punching holes with your paper piercing tool or your ice pick.
Follow the outline of the pattern making sure to leave a little
space between each hole.
6. Continue punching holes until the whole image has been traced
in holes.
7. Turn your bag back the right way.
8. When it comes time to put a candle into your
luminary fill the bottom of the bag with sand to give
it a little stability. Be sure to use a candle that will
not touch the sides or burn down to the bottom of
the bag (use a tea lite candle or a glass encased
candle).
* Remember Never Leave A Burning
